E-invoices for your Amazon business orders, issued by you

If you sell on Amazon’s European stores and upload your own VAT invoices, every business order now has to become a structured e-invoice: over the Peppol network in Belgium since 1 January 2026, as ZUGFeRD or XRechnung in Germany from 2027. GoRoute reads the order’s tax data from Amazon, issues the document your buyer’s law requires, delivers it, and uploads the PDF to Amazon so nothing changes for the buyer.

The connector is built on Amazon’s Selling Partner API and is awaiting Amazon’s solution-provider review, which grants the permission to read a buyer’s tax identity. Leave your details and we will open it to you the day that lands.

Who this is for

Amazon’s VAT Calculation Service gives a seller three ways to invoice. This connector serves the second.

Amazon generates your invoices

Amazon issues the document in its own numbering and format. Sellers on this option need nothing from us; the invoice is Amazon’s.

You upload your own invoices — this one

Amazon supplies the tax data and expects a document back. Amazon offers this option only through solution providers that implement its invoice upload. GoRoute is applying to be one, so your numbering, your ERP and your compliance stay in one place.

You calculate VAT yourself

The same upload path, with your own tax figures instead of Amazon’s. Supported once the connector opens; tell us if this is you.

How an Amazon order becomes an e-invoice

Four steps after each shipment, none at the keyboard.

Shipment confirmed

The connector sees the business order ship, exactly as Amazon records it.

Tax data read

Amazon’s VAT Invoice Data Report gives the lines, rates and the buyer’s VAT identity.

Document issued and delivered

Peppol BIS 3.0 over the network in Belgium; ZUGFeRD PDF/A-3 by email in Germany; your numbering throughout.

PDF uploaded to Amazon

The same document goes back to Amazon, so the buyer finds it in their account as before.

Refunds become credit notes

A refund on Amazon raises a credit note that references the original invoice, delivered and uploaded the same way.

Consumer orders are left alone

Only business orders are invoiced. A consumer purchase keeps Amazon’s receipt; nothing is sent by mistake.

One register with your shop

If your web shop runs on WooCommerce, Shopify or Wix, Amazon orders join the same numbering and the same delivery status.

What the rules say, store by store

The mandates cover sales to businesses, and each country has its own format and route.

Belgium · amazon.com.be

Since 1 January 2026 an invoice between two VAT-registered Belgian businesses must be a Peppol BIS 3.0 e-invoice delivered over the network. Amazon asks Belgian sellers for a Peppol ID in their VAT settings. See Belgium e-invoicing.

Germany · amazon.de

Every business has had to receive e-invoices since 2025; issuing becomes mandatory in 2027 for larger sellers and in 2028 for all. The formats are ZUGFeRD and XRechnung, which GoRoute already produces. See Germany e-invoicing.

Poland, France, Italy

National platforms (KSeF, the French PDP model, SDI) rather than Peppol alone; added to the connector as each store’s duty lands. Country by country.

Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Ireland, UK

No domestic B2B mandate yet in most; Peppol delivery is available where the buyer is registered, and the PDF upload works everywhere the VAT Calculation Service does.

Amazon e-invoicing for sellers: frequently asked questions

What sellers ask before they sign up for the opening.

Does this replace Amazon's own invoices?+
Only if you choose to. Amazon's VAT Calculation Service offers three options; the connector is for the second, “I will upload my own VAT invoices”, which Amazon makes available through solution providers. Sellers who let Amazon generate invoices keep doing so and do not need this.
Which orders are invoiced?+
Business orders: purchases placed through an Amazon Business account by a buyer with a VAT number. Those are the sales the e-invoicing mandates cover. Consumer orders are left to Amazon’s receipt as today and are never invoiced by the connector.
Which countries?+
Belgium first, where every domestic B2B invoice has had to travel over the Peppol network since 1 January 2026. Germany follows for its issuing duty in 2027 and 2028, with the ZUGFeRD and XRechnung formats GoRoute already produces. Other stores are added as their national formats become mandatory.
What does the buyer receive?+
The structured e-invoice their law requires, delivered the way that law says: over the Peppol network to a Belgian buyer’s own accounting software, as a ZUGFeRD PDF/A-3 to a German buyer. The same PDF is uploaded to Amazon, so the buyer also sees it in their Amazon account as they do now.
Where do the VAT figures come from?+
From Amazon’s VAT Invoice Data Report for the shipment. Amazon calculates the VAT; GoRoute renders and delivers the document. Your numbering runs on, so marketplace and web-shop invoices sit in one register.
When can I connect?+
Once Amazon has completed its review of GoRoute as a solution provider, which grants the permission needed to read a buyer’s tax identity. Until then the connector is in development; leave your details and we will tell you the day it opens.
What does it cost?+
It is a connector on a GoRoute account, so the invoices count against your plan like any other. A new account starts on the Free plan with 50 invoices a month; paid plans from $19 a month.
I only buy on Amazon Business. Is this for me?+
No. A Belgian company that buys on Amazon needs a Peppol ID that Amazon’s validation accepts, and nothing else. That is covered on the Peppol ID for Amazon in Belgium page.
